This lash rope is a key part of your horse packing system, used to secure loads to your pack saddle with hitches such as the diamond hitch, basket hitch, or barrel hitch. Built for durability and ease of use, it performs reliably in real backcountry conditions.
Our lash rope is made from double-braided nylon, the same material we use for our lead ropes. It is strong, durable, holds knots well, and stays supple in all weather.
The standard length is 48 feet, which is long enough for most horses and pack loads. Both ends are finished with heavy-duty rubber shrink for durability and long-term use.
We use 3/8″ rope as our preferred size because it is lighter and much easier to tie diamond hitches and finishing knots than thicker rope, while still being more than strong enough for any horse pack load. A 1/2″ rope option is also available for those who prefer a heavier rope.
This rope is long enough to be used as a sling rope and works well with basket or barrel hitches as part of a complete pack system.

A lash rope and lash cinch together form the core system used to secure loads on a pack saddle. This rope is designed to work as part of that dependable system.
Used by outfitters, hunters, and serious packers who need reliable gear in the mountains.
